STRONGEST PSYCHEDELIC MUSHROOM STRAINS EXPLAINED BY THE MUSHROOM SPORE STORE

When one First Enters the Field of Mycology, Either as a Profession or a Hobby, There comes a Certain Time where Newcomers Find Themselves in Awe at the Sheer Scale of it All!

When individuals enter the world of mycology, either as a hobby or profession, there will come a time where newcomers find themselves in awe of the sheer scale of the field. Even scientists struggle to agree on exactly how many different fungal species exist. The estimate lies somewhere between 1.5-5 million different species of fungi. Scientists often dispute if the number is truly as high as 5 million, while others believe there are even more. Either way, there is no question that there are a ton of fungal species in the world.

Naturally, a certain subset of the fungal species are the kind containing psychoactive compounds, including cubensis. If you start categorizing each species by individual strains, there are hundreds of these subsets. For instance, our store features the spores of many strains of Psilocybe cubensis. So, what is the strongest physchedelic mushroom strain out there?

What Is The Strongest Psychedelic Mushroom Strain?

Psilocybe azurescens is widely considered to be the mushroom containing the highest concentration of cubensis. This mushroom is rarely seen outside of nature. For now, we’ll cover what you need to know regarding this ultra-potent mushroom in this section. Azurescens only grow along the coastal region of Oregon and Washington in the U.S. Unlike cubensis, which typically grows in mature/pasteurized soil, azurescens prefer environments with a high lignin content like wood or grass.

These fungi are only spotted in the latter months of the year, typically from October to December. This is due to azurescens thriving in cold weather below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This is different compared to cubensis, which require temperatures above 70 degrees.

In nature, these fungi are found in tightly packed clusters of mature fruit with a small 30-100 millimeter cap. The shape of the cap can lead this fungi to be referred to as the “flying saucer”. Caps will be caramel colored, sitting atop a pale, thin stem. Because this mushroom’s cubensis content is very high, mycologists have noted its extreme propensity for bruising colorfully.

Whenever air comes into contact with cubensis, a chemical reaction occurs, changing its colors. This is why these fungi end up colored blue or purple. The darker the bruising, the more cubensis is contained within the fungi. Psilocybe azurescens tends to bruise a very dark blue and almost black color.

The Strongest Psychedelic Mushroom Strain Is Psilocybe Azurescens

This is the strongest strain, but the general public doesn’t hear about it often. That is because Psilocybe azurescens is not a “strain,” it is a species or lineage within the Psilocybe genus. Sometimes, we use the word strain interchangeably, but for the sake of accuracy, you should think in terms of lineages, genii or species.

If this is truly the most potent mushroom, though, why don’t we hear more about it? It’s primarily because azurescens is hard to locate outside of its natural setting. To harvest its spores in a legally accredited mycology lab, these would have to be artificially grown at some point. Psilocybe azurescens is notoriously difficult to cultivate. Azurescens has very strict needs when it comes to both temperature and substrate.

Also unlike cubensis fungi, azurescens spores are hard to come by. The majority of microscopists would love to have the chance to get it on a slide in a lab setting, but legal cultivation by mycology labs is simply too difficult to go through the trouble. At the very least, there are plenty of extremely potent Psilocybe cubensis strains available.

What Are The Other Strong Strains Of Psychedelic Mushrooms?

Since we now know why Psilocybe azurescens spores are not typically available, what are some of the other strongest psychedelic mushroom strains? If you are interested in pinpointing one of the most potent strains of psychedelic mushrooms, you will likely want to start with our Blue Meanie spores. These are known by mycologists to be among the most potent and natural cubensis mushrooms.

Just like azurescens, the Blue Meanie strain is also known for its wild bruising characteristics. Mycologists have reported their bruising to be in a deep, dark blue coloring.

Other strains that have a high cubensis content are Luminous Lucies, Penis Envy and Albino Penis Envy. Of these strains, Penis Envy tends to be the most popular choice. This is due not only to the curious name, the strain was believed to be cultivated by two famous figures in the mushroom world, Terrence and Dennis McKenna. So many of these cubensis mushroom spores truly have fascinating background stories.

PSYCHEDELIC MUSHROOM SPORES FOR MYCOLOGY RESEARCH & MICROSCOPY

Did you know that you can buy psychedelic mushroom spores online?

In fact, in addition to providing high-quality microscopy lab equipment, that’s exactly what we do here at the Mushroom Spore Store. We have a wide variety of spores available from nearly all strains of psychedelic mushrooms, including the ones mentioned above like Penis Envy and The Lucy. Whenever dealing with psychedelic mushroom spores, there are some important legal considerations you must understand. Let’s discuss them now!

Psychedelic Mushroom Spores Legality

If you are asking if psychedelic mushroom spores are illegal, the answer is no in 47 out of 50 states in the U.S. It is perfectly legal to buy, sell and own cubensis mushroom spores for research purposes only. It is, however, illegal in nearly all jurisdictions to cultivate mushrooms. These cubensis spores are never to be cultivated. The only exception is in New Mexico, where it is legal to grow mushrooms as long as no steps to preserve them are taken.

Make sure you familiarize yourself with local psychedelic spore laws before placing any orders. California, Georgia and Idaho are the three states where cubensis mushroom spores are illegal.

What You Need To Know About Medicinal Mushroom Spores

Several different types of mushrooms have made their way into public consciousness, including Lion’s Mane, Shiitake, Reishi and others. Mushrooms are constantly in the news these days in regard to medical purposes. Ancient people across the world used cubensis for spiritual practices and their benefits are becoming more accepted today.

Those wishing to study the formative stages of these mushroom spores are best suited to start looking at medicinal mushroom spores under a microscope.
